New years, new hair color!

Happy new year!! I know I'm kind of late but, I'm on finals at college, so excuse my absence in blogging!
A day before new years eve I decided to go a little bit darker to my natural hair color. I have medium-dark blonde hair and I'm sick of the super blonde look. So I went to the super-market and I was blown away when I saw this L'oreal hair dye with the exact same hair color as my natural hair! I didn't even thought twice and bought it.

It's the new L'oreal Excellence formula with Pro-Keratin and it's the shade 8.1  ash blonde or Light ash blonde here in Portugal (For me that's not light).  I was looking to buy the 8.13 Frosted Blonde shade but here in Portugal there's none and I tried to order it online and there were some complications, so I gave up, but I'll try it some day.

I don't know if you can see it or not, but my hair it's pretty much damaged by all the lighting, I never bleached my hair, but when you color it over and over again, you'll get a fried hair. That pic above really shows you how light my hair was before, so of course it didn't came out as dark as I wanted by I like the results anyway.

As you can see, it came out a natural medium to light blonde with some highlights. I really like it! I feel more natural now, and the super blonde look it's old for me, I've been that hair color for 3 years now.
About the hair color, it isn't super damaging as I thought it would be. My hair doesn't feel dry and dull like it has happened before. It's soft and it has a lot of volume. This particular hair color has a pre-color protecting serum which protects your hair from the damaging hair color and with a cream that you put on your hair after, it can last you two washes.

Overall, I'm really happy with my new hair color. It's not something drastic, but I like it! If you have any questions, tips or if you want to share some hair color experience, just tell me ;)

Natural remedies for acne and scaring

Hi Ladies! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I Loved mine (I finally got my camera! yay!!!) :D

As you all know, I've been with redness, pimples, etc on my chin area. It's really REALLY bad, and from the past 3 weeks it have been getting worse.
I've been left with scars in my fair and sensitive skin. Scars that are so bad, even the Revlon Colorstay can't hide them. I don't wanna take any antibiotics, so I've been trying everything else.

My grandmother said Lemon was pretty good to treat acne and scaring, so I'll give it a try.

Lemon juice  contains  Alpha Hydroxy Acids which is citric acid. It helps promoting skin elasticity and removing dead skin. It can bleach out the skin, so you have be careful not to have white spots on your skin, especially if you have dark skin.
Lemon juice can sting a little or a lot, depends on how sensitive your skin is. Mine is super sensitive, so I really can't use it alone, or I will scream ahahah Some people said to mix with some green tea but I always heard that honey is one of the most effective natural ways to treat acne.

Honey is an antiseptic and is known for its anti-bacteria and healing properties. This is just a few of it's benefits. Google it. You'll see what I'm talking about.
So if I mixed a little of honey with the lemon juice, it doesn't sting and it helps with the scaring and acne.

I apply the two mixed together on my affected areas and I leave it on for an hour or two. All this acne on my face really hurts my skin, so I need something to calm it down. Nothing better than mallow water.

This water helps to calm your acne prone skin, clean your pores and reduces the redness. It has many other proprieties (if you drink it) it's diuretic and helps to relax.
I use it to wash it off the lemon juice and honey from my face, then I leave it on for some minutes and I wash it off with warm water. For preparing the mallow water, you just have to pick up some wild mallow and put them in water and let it boil. Then let it sit for half and hour 'till it's warm.

I'm going to do this everyday 'til I see some results. I've been using Mask of Magnaminty from Lush, which I will do a review latter. But I'll do other natural mask twice a week, that in another post, I'll tell you about it.

I hope this was helpful to you, if you have any questions just ask. You can show me your tips for scaring and acne too! I love to hear new things and natural ways of treating it!

An Update & NEEDING foundation recomendations

First of all, I'm sorry for the lack of posts. I've been really busy with college, and I was sick for most part of the month.
I don't use the Lush facial routine anymore, because I found out that the reason I've been breaking out so much it's because of some allergies. So I'm using other products that I will tell you latter.
Also, I'm finally getting a new camera, it's a good one, so more posts will come! I'm thinking of changing the look and feel of my blog too (:

I really need your help on this issue now. I've been using Revlon Colorstay foundation which I LOVE but I don't want my skin to get used to it, so I was thinking of trying a new one.
Any recommendations will be MUCH appreciated, so please help me with this. I need medium to full coverage because of the allergies, it's better, but it isn't gone yet.

I asked (via twitter) singer and song writer Jessie James which foundation did she used. She ALWAYS looks so flawless I really wanted to know! She was kind enough to answer me, and she said Make up Forever HD foundation. I was thinking of buying this one, but because it's so expensive, I wanted to know what you guys think, so if you are using this foundation or you already tried it, tell me your thoughts! I would be so much appreciated!

Here's a pic of Jessie James if you don't know who she is, if you click on her name you'll be directed to her fansite too) :

Lush and The Body Shop Haul! New Skin Care Routine

If you're familiar with my blog posts you'll see that I don't usually do hauls. I did one, it was my first post but it was a one time thing.
I wanted to show you this haul, because I'll start a new skin care routine with some of this products. My current skin care products aren't working at all and I'm breaking out like never before... I'm done using chemicals on my skin, so Lush and The Body Shop would make a natural face routine.

Fresh Farmacy: According to the Lush Site: " If your skin is troubled, sensitive and reacts to nearly everything you put on it, lather up with this nightly. It's pink because it's packed with calamine, the stuff your mom put on your mosquito bites to calm down your skin and stop it from itching. We also add chamomile and rose to soothe, and a bit of tea tree oil to help cleanse for blemish-free skin. It's soft, creamy and delightfully effective so give it a try, rub the pink frothy foam all over."
Like I said before, I have been breaking out on my chin area for quite some time now and I've been helpless about it, because I'm trying everything but it doesn't work! So I've heard really good things about this cleanser, I'm hoping this helps clearing out my skin.

Mask of Magnaminty: According to the Lush Site:" Revive your skin with our cooling mint mask. Its clay base makes for a deep cleanse, getting all the grime out from beneath the surface (it's great for blackheads). Peppermint oil cools the skin and leaves it with a tingly fresh feeling. When you're feeling spotty or grimy, spread this mask all over your face and shoulders, inhale the refreshing scent, leave on for 5-10 minutes then rub in the clay and ground aduki beans for some cleansing exfoliation. A quick rinse and you'll feel fresh and energized."
I bought this mask for exfoliating my skin. Ocean Salt it's too harsh on me, and the Nivea Young exfoliator that I've been using, does nothing for my acne scars or for cleaning my skin. I did my reserch and I thought I would give this a try. Everyone says this is very good for spots too, so I can't wait to try it out today!

Grease Lightning: According to the Lush Site: "The winning team came up with this super effective tea tree, rosemary and witch hazel gel, a spot cleanser for acne-prone skin. Dab on a tiny bit (with a clean finger) of this wonderful gel and you'll feel it working straight away. Use it on one spot or many and watch them shrivel up and retire. Go Greased Lightning!"
I already applied this twice on my spots and it absorves quickly and smells like Tea Tee Water toner! I'm hoping this helps with my spots too.

Strawberry Feels Forever: According to the Lush Site: "Made with fresh crushed strawberries for a sumptuous massage treat! Melt the cocoa and shea butter with your hands or rub it all over your sweetheart to make massaging go smoother. The delectable fragrance of strawberries mixed with hibiscus flower infusion will release for a sensual massage. It's especially wonderful after a shower with Yummy Yummy Yummy, our strawberry shower cream wash with the same delightful fragrance."
I know this has nothing to do with my skin care routine, but I've been wanting this massage bar for ages! I was waiting for the cold days too came, so I can order this without melting all over the place! I've use this massage bar once, and I LOVED IT!!!!!! It smells so good, and makes your skin with a scent of sweet strawberry for ages! I didn't even wear perfume that night! I know this is going to be a keeper (:

Now, I'll show you the Body Shop Haul:

Vitamin E Moisture Lotion SPF 15: " Vitamin E conditions, nourishes, and protects the skin, leaving it soft, smooth, and healthy."
I 've been using the same moisturizer since I was 16 years old, I'm 20 now. My skin has changed, so I was looking for a day cream which could provide me sun protection and moisturizes as well. I didn't wanted an moisturizer for oily skin, because I'm using so many products against it, that it can be drying for my skin, that's why I choose this creme. I used it once, and I'm liking it. It's really light, and my skin was heavenly smooth.

Vitamin E Face Mist: I will use this product for finishing up my make-up and for refreshing through the long days at school. It has Rose Water which is the main beauty secret of women in Portugal for cleanser and refreshing.

Tea Tree Concealer: I use this as a concealer for my spots and red areas. Until now, it has worked really well, But you have to be careful, cause sometimes it can be too much and make your skin look blotchy.

Passion Fruit and Coconut Lip Butter: This is my second time buying these two flavors. I go throught lip butter extreamly fast because I'm always using it! It's a savior for my lips.

White Musk Sensual Body Powder: " A light body powder that absorbs excess moisture on the skin to leave it smooth, dry and subtly scented with the classic soft and floral White Musk© fragrance."
I couldn't live without body powders, I don't have dry skin at all, so it will take my skin some time to absorb the lotion that I use. Everytime I go out and I'm on a hurry, I take a shower and apply this and I'm good too go! The scent it's wonderful and your skin gets glowy and smooth.

I will make a reviwe of these prodcust once I use them enough! Especially the facial skin care products!
But now I will tell you which are the steps for my new facial routine:

- Fresh Farmacy in the morning as a clenser
-Tee Tree water as a toner
-Grease lightening two times a day, in the morning and before bed.
-Vitamin E Moisturizer

-Baby Face as make-up remover
- Rose Water for freshing up, and cleaning up my eyes before bed
- Bath and Body By Tracy 3 in 1 Moisturizer

-Mask of Magnamenty once a week

That's it! I will update you on my new skin care routine once it shows results or next month!

Product Rave: Shampowder Dry Shampoo

(Image taken buttercreamcosmetics.com)

I have oily tin straight hair. I wash it everyday, sometimes two times a day and I colored it. I never bleached it, but I color it like crazy. I have a flat iron that I used to use it everyday without any heat protection... It damaged my hair in a way that I can't describe it... So I only use it once a month... or once every two months, it depends. I already have straight hair, but sometimes it gets wavy, but I learned to embrace it.

I was looking for a dry shampoo for a while now. I wash it too much, and sometimes I even lose the bus and miss some classes because I had to wash it in the morning (yes, I prefer lose some classes than walk around looking like a grease ball). I use semi-permanent hair color, so if you wash it too many times the color fades really quickly and I don't want that.

I used the Bumble & Bumble dry shampoo, but it was very messy and expensive for that little bottle. I used others sprays and it was horrible. Baby powder made my scalp look white... So I was pretty much desperate.
Until I found this site... from Google ahaha I just typed the words "powder for blonde hair" and the ButterCream Cosmetics site just appeared on the search bar. I made some research and I decided I would buy it, I couldn't be more happier.

The concept of this dry shampoo it's really well thought and clever. It was invented by a normal Lady who just wanted a solution for that greasy days, without that messy sprays and something she could bring in her bag on the go.
It has three shades: one for Black hair, other for brown hair and red hair and for light hair. So you no longer have the problem with the messy white powder.
It has a cute brush, which makes it very easy to apply on your hair, and the scent of vanilla deodorizes your hair, so it feels and smells fresh and clean.

I bought the light shade for my light blonde hair. I dabbed first on my hand to get the powder on the brush, and then I dab-dab-dab on my hair like the instructions says. It was not messy, and it was absorbed very fast. I loved the vanilla scent too! My hair was instantly clean, not a bit oily and it had volume.
Also, if you die your hair a shade lighter than your natural color, like me, it helps to blend the roots! So you don't have to be always coloring it. My hair is light blonde, and my roots are a bit darker, I put this on them and the roots just looks lighter!

I think everyone should try this if you're looking for a good dry shampoo on the go! I take this everywhere with me, especially when I'm going to the University, and I have classes all day, it just refreshes my hair in a minute! And whenever I don't have time to wash my hair, I just apply this powder and everything is perfect ;)
It costs 15.99 dollars and you can buy it on their site! Plus, they have so much information about the product on their website, so go visit here!

I hope this was helpful tou you, any questions or suggestions just comment ;) *
